Chapter 47

Blue Zone's Na Dosik visited the 3rd floor. There was only one reason a player from the 5th floor was going down so far—to meet a particular player in person.

'I was just about to move to the next floor. I never thought I would be put in charge of dealing with such a thing.'

"That bastard. Why did he refuse and cause me trouble for no reason?" he grumbled while fiddling with his protruding hair.

Streamer Lee Su-hyeok. was a player with exceptional good luck. He'd obtained the Lightning skill on the 2nd floor. Had anyone imagined a streamer would get the skill?

'Even if it's necessary for symbolic reasons, it’s hard to believe Blue Zone would want a player who just reached the 3rd floor.'

Na Dosik walked while looking at the map displayed on his kit. "The world's going to end, seriously." He was lamenting when he arrived at the destination and looked up at the lodging. "Is it here?"

The exterior was clean, indicating a pretty decent level of maintenance. Balhae Entertainment had arranged it. They said that streamers make good money, and it seemed to be true.

Na Dosik opened the door and made a phone call. "Yes, I've arrived."

The receiver was John Tail, a team leader at Balhae Entertainment.

"Yes. I'm on the 1st floor…"

"Over here."

On the 1st floor of the lodging, the lobby was well decorated, like a café.

John Tail, who was sitting in the center, waved at Na Dosik.

Na Dosik sat down across from him.

"Would you like some coffee? Or perhaps a light drink?" John asked.

"Forget about it. Just give me water."

"Understood."

From Na Dosik's response, John could tell that he wasn't planning to stay long. "You mentioned you had business with our streamer?"

"Yes. Where is Lee Su-hyeok now?"

"He isn't here at the moment. He went out for something."

"Went out? For what?"

"That involves the streamer's private life, so it's a bit difficult for me to tell you…" John  trailed off while sipping his coffee. "Besides, I believe we've already conveyed our streamer's position to you."

"I'll discuss it directly with him."

"That's unfortunate. I think it will be hard for you to meet him."

"Isn't it you who doesn't want me to meet him?" Na Dosik frowned. He knew the people from Balhae Entertainment wouldn't be cooperative. From their perspective, it made sense. After all, Blue Zone was trying to take a winning lottery ticket from them.

'If I go back without even seeing Lee Su-hyeok, I'll be immediately disciplined.' It didn't matter what he thought of the streamer. The guild wanted him a lot, so if things went wrong, it wouldn’t just end with a normal punishment.

"From Mr. Lee's perspective, it would be a hundred times better to join a major guild than just stream. Don't you think?" he said.

"Well, these days, successful streamers are earning as much as top-ranked players."

"Points aren't everything, right? Honor, power, strength… I'm talking about everything combined."

"Streamer Rain Cutters became a ranker while streaming. He probably has more points and prestige than the rankers he’s equivalent to." John didn't back down even a bit.

Na Dosik frowned. "Mr. Tail, are you planning to turn Blue Zone into your enemy?" If persuasion didn’t work, he would have to resort to threats, but he'd picked the wrong opponent.

"There are players who have biases against streamers. I have met such people before," John said.

Na Dosik looked puzzled, seemingly wondering, ‘What do you want me to do about it?’

"Still, there aren't many of those people who dare to spew such nonsense in front of me. Do you know why?" John's voice gradually gained strength. "We have the power to move the masses. Everyone knows how scary that can be… Unless they have a three-year-old child's mind."

Eventually, the man smiled. He was mocking Dosik. "Got it, kid? Do you realize just how ridiculous your threats are?"

"K-kid? Dosik's face turned red as he jumped up from his seat. However, he couldn't easily threaten John by using the name of his guild.

'This won't do.' A threat could only be used once. If he crossed the line any further and ignored John’s warning, he would have to be prepared for both his own downfall and for the guild’s image to be tarnished.

If that happened…

'I'll receive a punishment far worse than I would for just missing out on Su-hyeok.'

Gulp—

A guild’s image was synonymous with recognition and honor. That's why they couldn't antagonize a rising MCM company like Balhae.

He had no other choice. "You will regret this…" His only option was to back off.

Slam-!

Dosik stood up and left the lodging.

The loud slam of the door was his final shred of pride.

"Tsk." John clicked his tongue as he watched Dosik leave, and then he downed the remaining coffee in one gulp. Although he might have been a bit aggressive, that should have clearly conveyed his refusal.

John started muttering to himself. "To be honest, this is good for us, but… no matter how I look at it, he seems more suited to being a player than a streamer."

Su-hyeok had been hunting non-stop for three days. He was too different from the streamers John Tail had seen so far.

“Shaakk—!” A dozens-meters long giant snake let out a scream. Over two meters in diameter, tough, red scales covered its body. Otherwise called the ‘Sky Serpent’, it was known as the king of the 3rd floor.

'Is this its final struggle?'

Its head was completely torn apart. Su-hyeok had been relentlessly targeting its head from the start.

Crash—

The Sky Serpent fiercely charged forward and tore apart the ground.

Su-hyeok didn't dodge. He kept his eyes on it until it got close, and at the last moment, he vanished in a flash of golden lightning.

"I think it's time we chill out."

BZZT—!

WHOOM—!

A bolt of lightning struck the Sky Serpent's head—Su-hyeok's sword had pierced through its brain.

[You've defeated the 'Sky Serpent.']

[You've leveled up.]

[+1 Strength.]

[+1 Stamina.]

[+1 Concentration.]

As expected of a boss, his level had quickly increased again. Not only that, but what he'd obtained wasn't a simple level up.

"It looks like I'll make some money." In the past, he wouldn't have cared much about the hunt's harvest.

He'd gotten a Sky Serpent's Scale.  'This should be worth at least 10,000 points. After all, the scales are valuable.'

That was why Su-hyeok had a hard time hunting the Sky Serpent—he had to hunt it while damaging the scales as little as possible. In other words, he had that much leeway.

[Status Window]

[Name: Lee Su-hyeok]

[Affiliation: Earth]

[Level: 35]

[Strength: 36]

[Agility: 33]

[Stamina: 34] +2

[Concentration: 30]

[Magic Power: 36]

Su-hyeok checked his gains from the past three days. Thanks to having recklessly focused on leveling up through hunting, he hadn't gotten other additional items or skills, but he'd certainly gained a lot of levels.

'Nine levels. Four levels on the first day, three levels on the second day, and two levels today.'

It was an unbelievably fast pace, but it was clear that, as his level rose, the speed gradually slowed.

'I should be satisfied with this.' He'd gained enough through hunting. At nine levels, he'd basically obtained 27 extra stats. There was no need to be greedy for more.

Su-hyeok, who had skinned the Sky Serpent's scales, decided to return. He would recover MinJae’s relic the next day.

The first thing Su-hyeok did after returning was take a shower. He stored the Sky Serpent's Scales in his inventory, but since he didn't have enough space, he was forced to leave about half of them behind.

'Once I have some extra money, I should get an inventory bag,' Su-hyeok thought while taking his shower.

He sighed. "Where's that extra money supposed to come from? I have a money-eating monster attached to me."

After finishing his pleasant shower after the long hunt, Su-hyeok noticed that his kit was flashing with a blue light. He'd received a message.

[Un-hyang: Once you're done taking a shower, come to the café in the lobby ㅇ_^]

Su-hyeok scratched his head for a moment. "A wink…?"

More than that, how did she know he was there? 'Well, she probably wouldn't have a hard time figuring it out if she wanted.'

She was a player skilled enough to be recognized by him. If she set her mind to it, finding him within a few kilometers wouldn't be an issue.

Su-hyeok dried his hair and changed his clothes. As he went downstairs, he saw Un-hyang sitting at the table with a bright smile on her face.

"Did something good happen?" he asked as he sat across from her. There were two cups of tea already set on the table.

"How was it?" Un-hyang asked, still smiling.

‘How was it?’ It was already strange that she'd replied to a question with another question, but he couldn't even understand what she was talking about.

"What do you mean?"

"You haven't checked?"

"Check what…?" A certain thought crossed his mind. "Ah, right." He'd been so engrossed in hunting that he had forgotten about it. "The video…"

It was the edited video from the stream uploaded by Balhae Entertainment.

"Don't tell me you haven't checked it," she said.

"I haven't."

"Why not?"

"I was too focused on hunting."

"Woah…"

"I'm sorry."

Un-hyang shook her head at Su-hyeok's apology. "No, that's not why I seemed amazed. I just think that it's cool how much you resemble Lee Su-hyeok."

It wasn't an empty compliment. Un-hyang wasn't skilled enough to lie with her eyes. She was genuinely pleased with Su-hyeok's response that he'd been too focused on hunting to have done anything else.

"As I said before, Mr. Lee, it's okay for you to be like this. No one resembles Lee Su-hyeok more than you, and that's your greatest weapon!"

"Is that so?" He realized once again that he'd been lucky to get her as a manager. Having someone support him so much and be his partner felt like a blessing.

"I guess you don't know how many points you'll be receiving from the settlement this time, do you?"

"That's correct." Even if he'd checked, he probably wouldn't have known what he’d get from the video and the donations during the collab with Hawk Eye.

"I'm glad you’re different from the real Lee Su-hyeok in this aspect. You do like points, right?"

"That's…" Just as he was about to deny it, Su-hyeok remembered what he'd told Un-hyang before. When she’d asked him why he was streaming, he'd replied, "It's because of money."

"Yes… I do."

"Fufu, look forward to it." Un-hyang smiled in satisfaction. "Ta-da~!"

She pulled out the first check Su-hyeok would be receiving since he first started streaming.
