Chapter 56

Firstly, three years.

I decided to turn the clock to around the time Yeon-Ji turned three.

With that, my surroundings began to quickly rush by.

Eventually, by the time I came to my senses, many things had changed.

Firstly, the positions of the objects placed around me had changed, as had their type. The helpers who had been just behind me were also nowhere to be seen.

I stood alone in the room for a while. Looking around, I realized Yeon-Ji had disappeared from the bed.

The moment I realized that, a child in the corner of the room caught my eye.

A small child, looking to be only three years old, had her face between the cushions while swinging the tail growing from her back.

As I grabbed the tail and slowly pulled her out from the cushions, Yeon-Ji’s face popped out.

‘Well, look at that. She looks exactly like me.”

It was said that they came out based on DNA, which seemed correct. Yeon-Ji’s face was similar to my face when I was young.

As I gazed at the current Yeon-Ji in fascination, the child’s large eyes widened further.

“Who you?”

An inarticulate voice came out from her cute little mouth.

‘Wait, but could a three year old already speak?

I mean, she was a dragon. It would be funnier if she was like an average human child.

“Someone who came to raise you.”

“Don’t know.”

Yeon-Ji roughly shook her head from side to side and squeezed between the cushions again.

I turned the clock too little.

I’ve never really seen a child of this age, and I don’t know how to raise one either.

It was questionable whether our conversation was going anywhere in the first place.

“Guess I have no choice but to speed it up again.”

I sighed and stood up before daring to turn the time forward another five years.

Like the first time, things around me began to change drastically.

Blinking, the interior of the room had completely changed.

It had been a room for babies to play just a moment ago, but now it had become a room for a little girl to use.

‘Looks like I turned to a good time.’

Sensing sunlight shining through the window, I looked around.

I couldn’t find Yeon-Ji in the room, so I had no choice but to leave the room to find her.

At that moment, I saw a girl speedily running toward the door.

Long red hair flowed down her back. She was still tiny, but started to show small signs of a girlish look.

At the door stood a child, eight years old. She looked like a human copy of me, and anyone would say she was my child.

She was running from the helper chasing her and stopped to look up at me with a tilted head.

“Mister, who are you?”

Yeon-Ji looked at me questioningly and I replied with a slightly bored tone.

“I’m here to raise you.”

Yeon-Ji blinked once as if she didn’t understand, and soon a helper approached from behind and explained the situation.

“Miss Yeon-Ji, he is your father.”

I let out a sigh at the words of the helper who suddenly turned a single man into a father. Yeon-Ji looked up at me.

“Dad? Are you really my dad?”

“Why would I… Uh, yeah. That’s right. I’m your dad.”

Yeon-Ji frowned when I admitted the statement.

The more I looked, the more she looked like me.

“Yeon-Ji doesn’t know anything like a dad. This mister, I’ve never seen him. Why are you Yeon-Ji’s dad?”

Yeon-Ji voiced her displeasure and shook her head vigorously, denying the fact. She then hid behind the helper.

As I glanced at the helper, she silently averted my eyes.

“Aren’t you proud that you have someone like me as your father? There’s no way a kid who inherited my blood could be this stupid.”

“Stupid? Did you just call me stupid?”

As soon as she heard me, Yeon-Ji jumped out from behind the helper.

Then she glared at me furiously and put on a scowl.

“Do you want to die?”

“That’s what I want to ask.”

I glared at the child huffing in anger but glared back, not backing down.

She had some backbone.

The helper who had been watching the scene quietly raised her hand.

“I don’t care if you both die, but could you go do it outside? Cleaning the aftermath would be annoying.”

I think it was because of this helper that the child grew up with this kind of personality.

‘Rotten Constellation. There was a reason they gave the ability to freely skip time.’

I forwarded a period of eight years.

As a result, it seemed that there was a gap between Yeon-Ji and me worth those eight years.

I let out a long sigh as I looked at Yeon-Ji, who wouldn’t even look me in the eye.

Right, let’s just admit it.

This child here is my daughter.

With that being said… Her personality was very similar to mine.

‘If she resembles my shitty personality, then she must be one hell of a stubborn child.’

I knew my stubbornness the best, after all.

If she didn’t admit I was her dad the first time, she never would.

‘What were the types of people I liked?’

I didn’t dislike most people who could listen well.

However, since I always considered those people my subordinates, an equal relationship was impossible.

But on the opposite end, I don’t like those who try to rule over me.

‘Nothing good will come out of forcefully suppressing her. I’m only going to spark her competitiveness and she will do everything she can to overcome me.’

One thought ran through my head while I stood around thinking, causing me to turn my head.

Even though she was my daughter, did I really need to get close with Yeon-Ji?

Even now, Yeon-Ji was hostile toward me.

It was clear that investing a few years wouldn’t be enough to get close to someone like her, so why bother?

‘There’s no reason to play the role of a father, right? If she resembles my personality, her competitive spirit must be as high as the sky, so I’ll just manipulate that.’

With that thought, I decisively stepped in front of Yeon-Ji.

I smiled at her, who still had a scowl, and spoke to her.

“Hey, kid.”

“Yeon-Ji isn’t a kid. Asshole, do you really wanna die?”

Yeon-Ji became annoyed at being called a kid and kicked my ankle.

It didn’t hurt at all, but a small anger bubbled up inside me, making me scowl a little, though I quickly put on a smile.

“First, let me tell you the difference between you and me.”

I spoke as I grabbed Yeon-Ji by the scruff of her neck.

It happened in the blink of an eye, causing Yeon-Ji to struggle, but I ignored her feeble attempts and threw the kid.

Yeon-Ji’s eyes widened as she flew through the air.

I quickly ran to the other side, waited for her to fall, and caught her.

After repeating that action a few times, Yeon-Ji, who had been zooming around in the air, was hanging from my hand with a dazed expression.

She couldn’t believe that she could do nothing but be thrown around like a toy.

“How was it? Can you feel the difference in our level? Even if thousands of kids like you unite, you can’t win against me. Can you get a sense of how strong I am?”

Eek, EEEEK!

Yeon-Ji regained her consciousness and began to move her limbs around to escape from my grasp.

She then suddenly pulled out a sword sized for her hands that was worn on her waist and swung.

“Oho, so you wanna fight as a swordsman?”

In response, I pulled out the Heavenly Star Sword.

I easily hit Yeon-Ji’s sword and made it fly from her grasp with a single hit. I didn’t even use aura.

Because she lost her sword from the clash, the skin of her hand that had been gripping it was red and blistered.

Yeon-Ji looked at me in complete disbelief.

“My swordsmanship…”

“You call that swordsmanship?”

I made fun of her, causing Yeon-Ji’s scowling face to transform.

Horns sprouted from her head while red dragon scales appeared on her face. A tail also protruded through her lower garment.

At the same time, a sphere appeared a small distance from Yeon-Ji’s mouth and began to attract the surrounding light.

Breath. It was something that dragons often used.

Was that her special move?

The moment that flames traveled up through Yeon-Ji’s throat and swirled around the sphere of light, it spewed forward and flew at me.

Hoo.

However, I blocked her Breath with a single aura-filled breath.

Yeon-Ji saw that and widened her eyes. As a result of being hit by her own Breath being blown back, she coughed black smoke with a burnt-black face.

“Did you do something?”

“Huh, HUH?!”

Yeon-Ji’s face began turning red.

Her entire body trembled after recognizing the gap in our power.

As she couldn’t control her anger and even started to cry, I lowered my face so that it was level with hers.

“Not happy? If so, grow stronger than me.”

Yeon-Ji fumed at my provocation and tried to kick me again, so I tripped her.

Yeon-Ji fell on her bum.

She simply rubbed her injured area, got up, and glared at me again.

I didn’t back down and instead glared back harder, she bit down on her lip and whipped her head to the side.

Afterward, Yeon-Ji passed through the hallway, but not before picking up the fallen sword. When she left through the door, the helper standing next to me spoke.

“Does it feel good to bully such a child?”

“You think I’m doing this because I like it? I know her personality the best. This is the only way.”

“It would have been fine if you had been nice to her the first time you two met. Unlike Mr. Ha Chun-Sung, we raised Miss Yeon-Ji with our own hands.”

I turned to look at the helper.

“I thought you were just a helper, but you’re more annoying than I thought.”

“Because that is our role. We were given a mission to properly care for Miss Yeon-Ji. She has more pride than you, Mr. Chun-Sung. That’s because she won first place in the Youth Swordsmanship Competition held in the village. She’s very proud of that.”

There was such a thing?

That must have been why she oozed confidence when she gripped her sword.

Deep in thought, I ignored the helper’s word to an extent and immediately followed after Yeon-Ji.

There was a village outside the mansion.

“Miss Yeon-Ji, where are you going?”

“Aren’t you going to go out with the housekeepers today?”

Many tried talking to Yeon-Ji, but she continued along her path without a word.

Then, it wasn’t long before Yeon-Ji arrived at a field.

She took out the sword from before and strode forward.

I watched her and turned on the status window.

[Ha Yeon-Ji]

Magic Power: 28

Strength: 25

Intelligence: 26

Agility: 18

—Skill Window—

Dragon Transformation [E-Rank]

Mini Breath [E-Rank]

Fireball [F-Rank]

Fireball? Perhaps she learned magic from the helpers?

Anyway, looking at the status window, it seemed that whenever the level went up, the stats went up automatically, unlike us who had to do it manually.

And magic.

That’s all good, but it’s not my field of specialty.

My specialty was swordsmanship. I wasn’t too good at magic, so I scratched my head while looking at the window.

Judging from the high magic power and intelligence stats, it seemed that Yeon-Ji had more talent for magic.

‘I can’t teach magic, so let’s put that aside for now. After all, it’s said that if you have high intelligence and magic power, you also have high aura affinity, so that’s good.’

Aura was greatly affected by magic and intelligence.

That was why even if strength or agility was lagging behind, you could cover it with aura to some extent.

HIIIYAAA!

As I was thinking about how to raise her, Yeon-Ji furiously rushed toward the slime with a shout.

She started to swing her sword haphazardly and I rubbed my chin while watching her back.

‘Did she really learn bits of this and that since she was young?’
