Chapter 61
“You come here alone?”
The line never changes, even in another dimension.
Renee slowly lifted her head. Standing before her was a man, at least thirty years older than her, draped in luxury.
“It’s a party of three,” she replied flatly.
“That’s perfect. So are we.”
What’s perfect...? How…?
She followed his gaze toward the table he was pointing at. Two men, around his age, sat there watching.
Ah, he thinks I’m with two other girls.
[The <Evil Blood Lord> asks if you can’t just kill him.]
I mean, it’s not like he’s committed any crimes yet. Let’s just send him away in one piece.
The corners of her lips curved into a smirk after she sent the message in the chat.
I really have gone soft.
[The <Evil Blood Lord> cries that you’ve gone insane after only completing romance quests.]
“Sorry, but I don’t want to be bothered today,” Renee said, pursing her lips. It felt odd speaking informally to someone her father’s age.
“Aww, don’t be like that. You wouldn’t be able to say that if you knew who I am.”
“I don’t want to know.”
She was completely genuine, but the man laughed as if she had just told a joke.
“Cute. You know how to play hard to get. Must be because you’re young.”
“I’m not playing hard to get, and I’m not young. Piss off.” Renee waved her hand in annoyance.
Conveniently, the waiter returned with appetizers. Without hesitation, she picked up her spoon to eat, only for the man to flip over the dish.
Food spilled all over her dress.
“Who do you think you are, acting this cocky?”
[The <Evil Blood Lord> tenses up!]
[The <Temptation Monarch> tenses up!]
“I am the Todd Keshid, vassal of House Casseu! Surely you must have heard of Count Casseu!”
He puffed up with triumph while Renee silently stared at the ruined dish.
“I’ll forgive you if you beg right now. Bring your other bitches—”
“Sir, you cannot do that here! She is—” The waiter frantically tried to intervene, but Todd shoved him aside.
“You little rascals. I won’t let this slide. I put my mind to it, and this restaurant is—”
“Oi.”
The man named Todd faltered.
Did this bitch just call me ‘oi’? There’s no way—
Unfortunately for him, he had heard correctly.
“W-What did you just call me?”
Renee stood up, meeting his gaze.
“Pick up everything off the floor and eat it.”
It was a rather generous command, coming from her.
How could he?! How dare he throw away precious food…!
In her past life, where normal food was rare, such an offense warranted decapitation. It was only just for him to eat what he had wasted.
Of course, Todd wasn’t on the same page.
“I’ve only been nice to you! Have you gone mad?!”
Todd moved to raise his hand to intimidate her, not actually hit her. Not that he had the courage to.
But his hand wouldn’t move.
His own body refused to listen to him.
Only after locking eyes with the woman standing before him did he realize...
He was completely overpowered.
“Who’s being nice to whom now?” Renee asked.
“I-I, uh…”
“Todd!”
Catching on that something was wrong, his companions stood up and approached them.
“Huh? What’s wrong with you?”
One of them glanced at Renee.
“You’re taking this long because of some girl?”
“Uh, I—I, uh…” Todd stammered.
“He’s blanked out! What’s wrong with you?”
“Let’s just take this girl and leave.”
One of the men reached for Renee’s wrist.
“That’s enough.”
His hand never reached her.
Because, in an instant, two swords were at his throat.
Nobody had even seen them move.
“Are you alright, Renee? Did these men do anything to you?”
[The <Evil Blood Lord> cries that those bastards are never there when you need them!]
“Nothing like that.”
Renee wasn’t the type to just take harassment. She finally relaxed her energy, releasing Todd.
“Move this instant!” Todd’s companion hollered at Isir and Sedin.
“Pathetic rascal,” Isir muttered, kicking Todd’s back.
“P-Pathetic…? You little bastard! Looks like you’re from some rich house—well, today’s your lucky day.”
The man elbowed Todd.
“Tell them, Todd! Tell them you’re Count Casseu’s vassal!”
“Casseu?” Isir sneered. “Ah, I see. So you’re Casseu’s little crook.”
Renee recalled the name from earlier—the house they had to deal with at breakfast.
“Little crook?”
“Such a small shot, you couldn’t even recognize who was in front of you.” Isir smirked. “The person you just insulted is—”
Sedin grabbed his arm.
“Please don’t speak my master’s name in front of rascals like them.”
Isir sighed, giving in. Instead, he turned to the knight waiting outside.
“Bern.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
“Get rid of them. Quietly.”
“Understood.”
Bern nodded and swiftly tied up the three men.
“Wait,” Renee cut in. “He insulted me. It’s only right that I take care of things.”
First, I’ll bury him in a mountain—
[The <Temptation Monarch> warns you that you can’t plan anything after that!]
“You?” Isir raised a brow.
“Yes.”
“Is there something you want?”
Renee pondered for a moment. What should I do…?
“Renee.”
“Hm?”
“How about this? Contain these men in the Sira Guild for now, and we can discuss what to do after.”
Renee tilted her head to the side and clicked her tongue.
“Alright. Let’s go with that for now.”
Isir scrunched his face in disapproval but ultimately raised both hands in defeat.
“Bern, pass them over to the Sira Guild.”
“Sira…?”
“That’s right.”
Isir flashed his signature evil smile.
Bern begrudgingly bowed. “Yes, Your Highness. Get up!”

Renee and Sedin were back at Sira Guild—specifically, Sedin’s small lodging connected to the building. They were alone after Isir had left for government affairs.
“I didn’t want to bring you somewhere so humble,” Sedin muttered with a flush.
“Humble? It’s really nice. Looks way more human than the duchy.”
How is a two-story house with six bedrooms ‘humble’? I don’t understand this world’s standards… Renee shook her head.
She meant it. It was better than the duchy. Despite Sedin living there alone, the decorations were neat and cozy. She liked it much more than the extravagant but empty halls of the duchy.
“This isn’t my main home, but I stay here when work at the guild keeps me busy.”
“You’re always busy.”
“...That’s why I always stay here.”
“Then this is your home.”
Sedin hung his head.
“Where is your main home, anyway?”
“It’s in the suburbs. I don’t like noise.”
“We have the same taste. I don’t like noise either.”
“Then I will give you that house.”
[The <Evil Blood Lord> curses, demanding to know where this smooth bastard came from.]
[The <Temptation Monarch> flares, wondering how he knew our Yi-young goes crazy at the mention of real estate.]
Can you all stop making him weird?
“That’s alright. I mean, you can’t just say that to anybody, you know!”
“Renee isn’t just anybody.”
“You can’t say that to your mentor either!”
I need to keep a good eye on him so he doesn’t get scammed. She clicked her tongue.
“Before that, you must be hungry.”
“Yeah. I’m really not in a good mood when everything gets in the way of my meal.”
“Will you wait here for a moment?”
“Huh?”
Sedin reached his hand out toward Renee.
Does he want me to take it?
She placed her hand in his. He immediately turned red.
“R-Renee…”
“What? Weren’t you telling me to hold it?”
“Y-Yes, but…”
“Then what’s the problem?”
“It’s nothing.”
Sedin turned away with his eyes glued to the floor and led Renee out of the room.
“This is the kitchen. I didn’t want you to eat in a place like this… but I usually take care of my meals here.”
The room he took her to was familiar—one where the kitchen and living room were connected. It was a layout she’d missed.
“I know it is a discourtesy—to dare show this place… to someone like you…”
It was almost the same as a house in Korea, where the kitchen counter and table were side by side, allowing one to eat as soon as the cooking was done.
“Not at all. I’m used to these kinds of rooms.”
“Pardon?”
“Never mind, forget what I said. Are you going to cook here?”
“...If you would let me, I’d like to cook for you.”
“Alright.”
“Really?”
Sedin’s face brightened up.
Cute. Renee ruffled his hair out of habit.
“What are you gonna make me?” she asked.
“What do you like?”
“I’m a meatatarian.”
“Pardon?” Sedin had never heard of that term before.
“I don’t eat vegetables. I really like carbs. I like anything spicy, salty, sweet, and perfect for an early death.”
Sedin was speechless for a minute, but then nodded.
“I… will try.”
Spicy, salty, and sweet… He muttered to himself as he put on an apron.
Renee took a seat at the dining table.
“So, tell me what happened to House Casseu. What’s going on?”
“It’s nothing important enough for you to worry about.”
“I want to know.”
Sedin flinched.
“...House Casseu was once the next best noble swordsmanship house after Makius. I’m sure you already knew.”
Didn’t have a clue. Renee smiled to cover her ignorance.
“But recently, their fortune has been going downhill. It’s bad enough that scum like the men you saw earlier can ride high as their vassals.”
“Why is it going downhill?”
Sedin oiled the pan and lit up the stove.
“They do not have an heir.”
“An heir?”
“Yes. They don’t have an heir who can wield a sword, to be exact. I have heard there is only one lady, but she has never left the house since she was little due to illness.”
Hmm. Renee listened attentively.
“But the House of Casseu was built on blades. An heir who cannot wield a sword… cannot survive. The reason we had to leave earlier was that the Count came to us seeking refuge. He cannot manage the house any longer—”
“Sedin.”
“Yes?”
Renee shot to her feet and walked over to him.
“I just thought of a good idea.”
