Chapter 330

The evening after the exam.

The second-years were changing clothes in their dorm.

In front of the mirror in the Glory dormitory lounge, Eliana, now in a stunning party dress, looked around and muttered, "However you think about it, our school is kind of crazy for this."

The other sorcery students puzzled at her words.

"What are you talking about all of a sudden?"

"We just had a fierce battle, decided the winners and losers from that competition, and now we’re having a celebration party for the exam, right?"

"For sure."

The other students nodded.

"Yeah…"

One of the Glory students sighed deeply.

"Today’s victory... Honestly, can we say we won because we did well?"

The question darkened the students' expressions.

It’s not that they hadn’t tried their best.

No, they had fought with all their might.

From the Glory students’ perspective, there had been many precarious moments as the students from Harmony and Noble teamed up to attack them.

Glory had won because Leo had defeated Chelsea, the last standing opponents from Harmony and Noble.

As the Glory students finished getting ready for the party, looking glum in the lounge…

Tap- tap-

"What’s wrong with everyone?"

The students perked up as Chloe appeared.

Chloe, one of the most beautiful girls in the second year, was always popular.

But today, she was dressed to stand out for the party, her platinum hair, blue eyes, and sky-blue dress making a striking impression.

"Miss Chloe, you’re so pretty."

Chen Xia, dressed in a delicate outfit unique to the eastern part of the continent, appeared behind Chloe and smiled.

"It’s nice to see the two beauties of our dorm so beautiful together."

"Your outfit has an exotic charm, too, you know."

Eliana pointed her finger at the boys in the dorm with a grim look on her face.

"I’m a beauty too, you know."

"Oh, so you know."

"Yeah you are."

"What are those lukewarm responses?"

Eliana raised an eyebrow.

Amid the commotion, Chen Xia, sitting on the couch in the lounge, tilted her head.

"What were you talking about? You all looked down."

At Chen Xia’s words, the Glory students looked glumly at each other.

"Go on, tell her."

Chen Xia smiled as Eliana sat on the sofa and spoke.

"Well, about this competition. To be honest, it just felt like the class president did all the work all by himself."

Leaning back on the sofa, Eliana sighed.

"It makes me wonder if we really deserve to enjoy this party."

Other students in the dorm also looked gloomy.

"Is that what you’re all thinking about?"

Chen Xia smiled.

Chloe also crossed her arms.

"Well, it surely was Leo who played the biggest part in how the competition turned out. But Leo said it too. Without the rest of our dorm, he wouldn’t have been able to run around so freely."

"That’s right. Leo said he could only perform like that because he had colleagues he could rely on. So don’t feel too discouraged."

The Glory students looked skeptical.

"Did he really say that?"

"Yes."

At Chen Xia’s confirmation, the Glory students looked embarrassed.

"By the way, where is Leo?" Chloe asked as the dormitory students looked puzzled.

"He’s probably already gone to the party."

The party after the second-years’ midterm exams was held in the dormitory gardens.

Glory, Harmony, and Noble.

The three dormitories shared this garden, allowing them to mingle despite their separate buildings.

Outside guests filled the space amid the soothing music playing in the gardens.

Most were the parents of the second-years, invited to witness the exam.

"Professor, how is my son doing at school? His letters never mention much about his studies.”

“Torren is currently very interested in researching ways to relieve droughts using water spirits. He is a spiritualist, but he is also taking sorcery classes as a minor these days. He’s made great achievements in his studies. Professor Yura, come here and tell his parents more about him."

Sedgen was actively consulting with parents.

"If you look at that, Professor Sedgen certainly seems great," Len, who finished a short consultation with the parents of a sorcery student, admired.

Just then, Harrid, speaking calmly, took a sip of wine. "He’s not considered the best professor at Lumene for no reason."

"M-mother?"

"S-sister... How did you get here..."

"Father!"

Panicked voices came from the entrance to the garden.

The second-years, arriving at the party, found their guests.

Students chatted with their families, joy mixed with embarrassment.

They introduced their close friends, creating a friendly atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Celia approached Chloe.

"Celia, how are you feeling?"

"I’ve been getting healing treatments. What about you?"

"Me too. I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get to compete."

Celia and Chloe, close friends, greeted each other.

Chen Xia smiled at the sight.

"I’m also sad that I couldn’t compete against Duran in the end."

"Hmm, I would have won if I had kept fighting."

Duran’s snorting voice came from behind.

Beside Duran stood a little girl about ten years old, with blonde hair and golden eyes.

Chen Xia squatted down with a smile.

"Who is this cute girl?"

"It’s my younger sister."

"Nice to meet you. What’s your name?"

The girl greeted Chen Xia with a shy smile and spoke fondly.

"My name is Helan Moira. It’s an honor to meet you. Your match against my brother... You were really cool."

"It’s an honor to meet you, Princess Helan."

Duran’s younger sister was the princess of the Kingdom of Moira.

Helan smiled at Chen Xia’s words.

Duran’s friends looked at him with strange expressions.

"What’s that look?"

"No, she’s so cute. But it doesn’t match your image at all."

"Yeah, I think it’s a waste that she’s related to you. Can you give her over to me? I’ve always wanted a little sister."

Chloe smiled while Celia rolled her eyes.

Duran snorted as the two girls teased him.

"Wow! You’re all gathered here!"

Then a friendly voice was heard.

It was none other than Carr.

"Oh my! There’s also a princess here."

Carr made a fuss upon seeing Helan and greeted her politely.

Carr was natural about it, being from Moira himself.

"Princess Helan, my name is Carr Thomas. It’s an honor to meet you."

"Carr Thomas, oh! I’ve heard a lot about you. You are from our kingdom, right? Your excellent skills in sorcery were once praised by my brother."

Everyone looked shocked as Helan smiled brightly.

It was amazing that Duran had praised him in front of his sister!

“...Who are you? You’re not the prince we know, are you?"

"Shut it, Carr Thomas."

Duran snorted.

"My brother said he was impressed by how hard you struggled and survived, even with such low grades."

Carr smiled brightly at the words.

"That’s more like it!"

Chloe and Celia burst into laughter as they watched Carr express relief.

Duran maintained his usual expressionless demeanor.

It was then.

"Oh, Celia. Are these your friends?"

Reina approached with a smile.

She looked at Carr, Chloe, Chen Xia, and Duran and said, “You’re all students from the Knight Studies Department and the Sorcery Department, right? This child must surely be indebted to you all.”

"No, we all get a lot of help from Celia."

Chloe smiled as she said hello.

"You’re Chloe, right? I’ve heard a lot about you."

Reina returned with pleasure.

"And you’re Carr, aren’t you? I’ve heard a lot of stories about you since last year."

"Stories about me?"

Carr looked at Celia, somewhat surprised.

How would Chloe, who was in the same class and a close friend of his, not be the friend she had heard more about?

Celia and Carr were close, but he didn’t think their connection was strong enough for her to tell her family about him.

Chen Xia smiled at the sight and said, "Miss Celia, you look just like your mother."

Celia burst out laughing at the words.

"She’s not my mother. She’s my aunt."

"If she's your aunt..."

"She’s Leo’s mother."

"My son must be indebted to you all, as well."

When Reina said this with a smile, Chloe became very embarrassed.

"Oh, no! We’ve been friends since our first year! Rather… I should say your son has helped me a lot.”

Reina smiled brightly as she watched Chloe, her eyes shining.

"Yes, well. You should come over to my house during summer vacation."

Chen Xia adjusted her dress and greeted politely, "Hello, Mrs., my name is Chen Xia. I’m getting a lot of help from Leo."

Reina laughed at Chen Xia, who greeted her somewhat modestly while following Eastern etiquette.

"I’m happy that my son has a cute younger sister like you around."

“...I’m more of his older sister."

"Really? You look so young. Do you want to come and see me during the summer vacation, too? Come and see me along with Carr."

Reina invited Leo’s friends to her home.

"Celia, shall I invite the Lewellin children as well?"

“...Why would we not invite them?"

Celia’s face looked grim.

"By the way, where did my son go?" Reina murmured.

Step- step- step-

[Leo! Hurry up! Hurry up!]

Kiran whined on Leo’s shoulder.

Leo stood in front of Tina’s faculty room, clicking his tongue at Kiran’s whining.

Knock, knock-

Leo knocked.

But there was no response.

‘...Is she at the party?'

Leo looked puzzled for a moment but soon shook his head.

Tina, as Leo knew her, wasn’t the type to attend events like this.

"I think she’s out."

At the same time, he turned the door handle.

Creak- Creak-creak-creek-creak!

The door opened with a loud noise.

Leo peered inside.

"Professor Tina, are you there?"

[Keep it down! She’s not here, so let’s go already!]

"Try saying something that makes sense."

[Keep it down! These are my wings we’re talking about!]

As Kiran continued to protest, a strange sound came from within the office.

Leo, looking puzzled, entered the professor’s office.

[Keep it down! No! That psycho elf might have planted a trap or something!]

Kiran tried to stop Leo with a frightened face, but Leo went inside her room without hesitation.

He opened the door wider, watching light leaking out from inside.

"Professor Tina, are you there?"

Tina, who was sharpening a scalpel on a small whetstone, turned her head.

Eeeek-!

Blinded by its glare in his eyes, Kiran let out a little yelp and tried to run away.

Leo grabbed the flailing Kiran.

"Hello, Leo."

Tina waved with the scalpel in her hand, her hair scattered and with a crazed expression.

"I enjoyed watching you in the competition."

Tina, looking like a mad scientist, glanced at Kiran.

"What brings you here?"

"This is the one who broke into here earlier, right?"

"Yes, yes, your contractee."

Tina nodded and flicked her finger.

The light in the professor’s room turned on, brightening the space.

Kiran, who had been screaming, calmed down in the now brightly lit office.

"So, I have a favor to ask of you, Leo."

Tina smiled.

"Your Fairy. Can I dissect him just once?"

[Eeeeeeeeeeeeek!]

"Maybe another time."

"Really?"

Tina pouted as if disappointed.

"So, what brings you to my office?"

“It turns out that the Fairy’s wings that you have actually belong to this guy."

Leo held up Kiran.

"Huh? So what?"

"I was wondering if you could return them."

"Hmm!"

Tina crossed her arms, pondered for a moment, and nodded.

"Yes, all right. In return, can you do me a favor?"

"I’m a normal human being, so it wouldn't make much difference if you split my stomach and looked into it."

"That’s tempting, too. But not that kind of request."

Tina smiled.

"Leo, why don't you consider going to Seiren as an exchange student?"
