Chapter 110
The next morning.
The front of the Colosseum was packed with people eager to watch the Azonia entrance ceremony.
The crowd was guided inside, one after another.
In the center of the arena, the candidates for admission were warming up with tense expressions.
From here, they would move along the track within Azrek and then advance to the Great Desert.
The city tour was designed to showcase the hero candidates to the public.
The stands at the Colosseum were filled with enthusiastic cheers for the candidates. Leo stood in the far corner among them.
He fiddled with his rabbit ears peeking out from his beret, trying to adjust to the unusual accessory.
Despite his disguise as a beastman using polymorphing and a change in hair color, his true identity was still easily recognizable to those who knew him.
‘Besides, there’s nothing but trouble in revealing my identity.’
“There, boy! You got it!”
“You go, Rabbit Boy! I’ll be cheering for you!”
Even in the corner, the crowd cheered for Leo with gusto.
‘Hero candidates are always celebrated, no matter where they go.’
The Age of Disaster had ended, and the world had embraced peace.
Yet, the world still yearned for heroes.
Was it because they accomplished great deeds?
Or because they were remarkable individuals who could change the world?
‘No, people understand it just as well now as they did then.’
Leo's gaze grew somber.
‘The embers of disaster have still not gone cold.’
Even though Erebos’ power had been fragmented, it hadn’t been entirely vanquished.
Tartaros, the remnants of Erebos' army, remained active, plotting and hoping for the disaster's return.
‘True peace will only arrive after the age of heroes.’
An era where many heroes are no longer needed.
That was the peace the Great Heroes sought.
Leo reflected on an oath he made long ago.
“Black rabbit!”
Meanwhile, Ar approached with determined strides.
“You probably forgot what you promised yesterday, right? But I’m counting on you!”
“Okay, okay. But why do you look so tired?”
Ar smiled knowingly and widened her eyes.
“I couldn’t sleep a wink from excitement!”
Leo clicked his tongue, watching Ar’s enthusiastic display.
“Are you going to be okay?”
“Of course! So, during today's test, don’t wander off—just stick with me! Got it?”
“It’s a test, so I can’t just follow you around.”
“Don’t worry, don’t worry! Just watch me, watch me! Only me!”
Ar clung to Leo like a kitten, full of energy.
Meanwhile, other candidates noticed Ar and approached.
“Ar Tune, right? Nice to meet you! I’m Libed, and I hope you do well on this exam.”
“If I enroll, could you put in a good word with Instructor Verga for me?”
“Do ya wanna team up with me for the entrance exam?”
“Huh? Um?”
As other admission candidates flocked in, Ar looked embarrassed.
There were many who disapproved of the candidates who had come with just a letter of recommendation, but just as many who approved of them.
Additionally, Ar was the known successor to the renowned Tune hero lineage.
It was natural that many students would want to impress her before starting school together.
As the admission candidates gathered, they naturally drew the attention of the audience.
Leo noticed this and decided to slip away.
Ar, surrounded by other candidates, noticed Leo’s departure and called out, “Where are you going, black rabbit! Stay with me!”
Irritated, Ar apologized to the candidates she was speaking with and ran after Leo.
The faces of the other candidates twisted in surprise.
‘Who on earth is that rabbit!’
‘Why is Ar taking care of him like that? Is it all about the letters of rec?’
Unintentionally, this made them feel a pang of jealousy.

Yura, sitting in the audience, looked at the list of candidates who had received letters of recommendation for Azonia and remarked, “From the Tune, Den, Lual, and Vega families. Our kids are the best they’ve ever been, but this year’s recommended Azonia candidates are no joke, are they?”
“It certainly seems that way.”
“But Kyle? This is my first time seeing a person named after the Hero of the Beginning. Besides, there’s no family name listed, right? Who is this kid?”
“You’ll see.”
Every year, at Azonia's entrance exam, educators from each hero academy were invited to spectate.
Each academy also accepted the invitation to check on students who would compete with their first-year students in the future.
This year, professors representing each of Lumene’s first-year departments had come.
Originally, Professor Len was meant to come, but he ultimately declined due to preparing for second-semester classes.
"Ah! Everyone else is on their own trips, but I’m the only one left out!”
“There’s no need for all three of you to come. I can handle being busy preparing for class.”
“Professor Ain is surprisingly lenient with things like this. That’s why Len can just up and cancel without fear! But at least we’re showing some dignity as professors.”
“I don’t think that’s what you meant to say.”
“What do you mean?”
"Honestly, Professor, you’re the one who confronts Professor Ain the most.”
Carlo, sitting next to Yura, spoke carefully.
Yura glanced at her assistant professor, then raised her hand and smacked Carlo's throat.
Choke-!
Yura ignored Carlo's discomfort and continued.
“Anyway, Len, you’re wasting your time. Regardless of how hard he works, Leo will choose the Summoning Department.”
“What are you talking about? Leo Plov is going to be a knight.”
He corrected Yura, who seemed quite confident, but she wasn’t listening.
“By the way, aren’t you friends with Instructor Verga from Azonia? Aren’t you going to meet him?”
“I’d prefer to avoid him this time around.”
"Why?"
“Because they’ll just compare our first-year students with their candidates.”
“Maybe so.”
Nodding, Yura looked up at the sky and frowned.
Even though there was shade covering the bleachers, it was still very hot.
‘This is why I didn’t want to come.’
Yura, who hated the heat, took a sip of her drink to cool down.
Then, in the arena, she saw something and her eyes widened.
“Huh? Keck! Kuok! Cough! Cough!”
“Have you been possessed again?”
Ain looked at Yura with a hint of pity.
Yura grabbed Ain’s head as she coughed uncontrollably.
“What are you doing…”
Choke-!
Then Ain shook his head.
Carlo’s face turned pale at the unusual sound coming from Ain’s throat.
“I guess you were right about being generous to your juniors, Yura Marin.”
Crack-crack-crack
Ain loosened his knuckles, preparing to teach Yura a lesson.
Yura, now calm, shouted urgently.
“Cough! Cough! Ain! Look! Cough! There’s Leo!”
“What nonsense…”
Ain, who had been frowning with irritation, suddenly spotted a rabbit beastman.
Ain, who had been silent, finally spoke.
“I’ll let it go for now.”
Ain shook off Yura’s hand, rubbed his eyes, and focused in on the rabbit beastman.
Aside from the hair color and beastman appearance, he looked strikingly similar to Leo.
‘What on earth is he doing over there?’
Ain, glaring at Leo with a puzzled expression, stood up and said, “I’m going to find Verga.”

“Everyone, line up!” the Azonia instructor called from the podium. The candidates quickly formed a neat line.
Once they were in place, the instructor continued.
“Candidates with letters of recommendation, step forward.”
At this command, five admission candidates moved to the front of the podium.
“You’ll read the declaration on behalf of the entire pool of candidates. Just step forward and read the declaration in the order it’s given.”
The instructor handed out the declarations to the students.
Leo asked while the others were reading, “Do we just recite it?”
“Yes. As descendants of Arron, we place our hands on Arron’s Hero Record with respect and recite the hero's pledge.”
‘Arron’s Hero Record? I can’t believe I’m seeing it like this.’
Leo skimmed through the declaration, surprised.
When the five candidates finished reviewing their declarations, the instructor checked his watch and spoke into the microphone with a loudspeaker spell.
[Before the entrance examination, the candidates take an oath. Now, to the representative candidates.]
The audience’s attention shifted to the five candidates.
When the instructor gave a signal, an assistant took Arron’s page from the silk cushion and carefully placed it on the table.
The audience erupted in excitement.
“That’s Arron’s Hero Record!”
“Oh wow…!”
The audience was moved by the sight of the page from the world’s oldest hero, and some even began to pray.
This hero's page was proof that a Great Hero had once saved the world.
[Please read the declaration.]
As the instructor's solemn voice rang out, Leo, standing on the far left, approached Arron’s page.
Step-
He stood in front of it, looking down at his Hero Record.
The page, marked “Introduction”, was old and faded, with barely visible letters left printed.
But Leo could still sense its divine power.
‘It’s kept safe and sound.’
Leo breathed a sigh of relief, recalling the pieces of Kyle’s page that were so damaged it was almost embarrassing to call them Hero Records.
“What are you doing? Hurry up and recite it!”
When the instructor urged him, Leo placed his hand on Arron’s page.
“First, I will not commit a cowardly act in the presence of a Great Hero’s name.”
Ring—
At that moment, Leo paused, sensing a reaction from Arron’s page.
'What’s going on?'
Ring—!
'This…!'
Leo, noticing the change in Arron’s page, urgently spoke to Ar, who had followed him and placed her hand on the declaration.
“Second, I will not act shamefully in front of the name of a Great Hero…”
"Stop! Hands off."
“Huh? W-what are you doing?”
Leo tried to push Ar away, but Ar instinctively dodged his touch.
At that moment.
Ring—! Whoosh—!
Arron’s page began to glow.
“What is this?”
The instructor looked puzzled.
[Open Hero Record.]
"What?"
“Wait!”
Ar stared in shock at the message that appeared before her eyes.
[Arron’s World. Chapter: Prologue - The Beginning]
Whoosh—!
A blinding light filled their vision.
Leo and Ar squinted their eyes.
When they opened them again…
They found themselves standing on a street.
“Did you just say that Hero Records were opening?”
As Ar stood bewildered, Leo looked up at the sky.
Following Leo’s gaze, Ar also looked up.
Her face turned pale.
“What on earth is that? Why is the sky like that?”
Ar, who lived in an era of peace, saw a sky that was unimaginable to anyone born in the present day.
In contrast, it was a sky all too familiar to Leo.
A grim gray sky with no trace of blue.
Proof that the world was heading towards destruction.
Leo’s expression grew serious.
‘The Age of Disaster.’
