Chapter 45

“First, the trainees will surround and block the front of the wall. Make sure to stand as tightly packed as possible so it looks like there’s a lot of people gathered. These guys don’t even have the basics down, so even if you send them out, they couldn’t tell friend from foe. They’ll die just from wielding a sword. In that case, it’s better to have them stand there and make it look like we’ve got a lot of reserve soldiers.”

“That's what I think as well. Will you direct the trainees yourself?”

“No, you will, Iremic. I can’t communicate well with the other 20-Man Commanders right now. You’re the most experienced among them, so take over.”

“What? Me? Then what are you going to do?”

“I’ll break them down.”

When I briefly spoke about the enemy, Iremic seemed puzzled.

But I left him there, taking off to immediately climb up the wall after lightly tapping his shoulder.

Looking down at the Sotillian enemies from above the wall, I did a light warm up.

I felt sorry for those guys, but I couldn’t help it since they were the enemy.

“Numbers, anyone will do. Protect Rush. If he dies, you guys will as well.”

After saying that, I put the network tool away and wrapped my feet with aura before jumping into the sky.

Jumping into the air through the wind, I landed between the Sotillians. Some of the guys on the ground died from the impact.

The Sotillians were shocked by my sudden appearance and weren't able to respond.

I immediately took a sword from a soldier and swung it.

‘If I don't want to stand out, I can't use my aura as I please.’

Slice.

Scores of necks were cut off and blood splashed.

When I looked around, one of the executives found me, shouting urgently.

“Th-That guy, kill him first!”

The executive who shouted rushed to command the soldiers.

Soldiers with spears and swords jumped in to stop me. I gave a light snort and swung my sword again.

Dozens of people died every time my sword moved.

If I really wanted to, I could get rid of everyone at once with one swing, but if I did that it would grab too much attention.

A moderate hero, let's aim for that.

Thinking that, I navigated through the enemy while wielding my sword.

“You!”

As I did, a knight mounted on a horse appeared in front of me.

With a huge halberd and plate mail all over his body, he was furiously rushing at me. His weapon was even enveloped in aura.

“You devil! I'll kill you!”

When he came speeding over while fiercely wielding his halberd, I lowered myself and sliced at an angle to cut the horse’s legs.

The running horse’s legs were cut and the halberd-wielding rider was thrown to the ground. I shook off the blood from the Heavenly Star Sword and looked back at him.

“W-Wha— I didn’t even see any aura. Did you just use your own strength to cut the horse's legs?!”

I purposely didn't use aura to avoid standing out, but did it look like that to them?

“You monster!”

He threw away the halberd and took up a sword, coming at me with an advanced Sword Expert’s aura.

Clang!

With one fierce attack, I was able to slice his sword and plate mail armor all at once.

He died instantly, and his blood covered my body. After wiping only the edge of my face, I fixed my army cap and glanced around.

The enemies who saw me began to retreat with looks of astonishment and terror as I stood, readying my sword.

“If you guys don't come, I'll go to you.”

And then the sword swung again.

While Ha Chun-Sung was tearing through the enemy, a young man with blue hair stood on the wall.

Next to him, the Security Forces Chief couldn’t raise his head.  The young man asked a question as he stood watching the war.

“Who’s that?”

“What? Who are you talking about?”

“The one fighting alone, cutting through the Sotillian army.”

The Security Forces Chief raised his head with a questioning expression and looked out to the Sotillians.

However, he did not know who was wandering among the 30,000 Sotillians.

“He’s fighting on his own without using any aura.”

The young man, watching the situation with aura-strengthened eyes, turned around.

“That's enough. I'll step up. Our soldiers will be here soon. You’ve endured well with this number of people.”

“Yes, thank you, Your Excellency.”

As the chief bowed lower, the young man… The count jumped from wall just as Ha Chun-Sung had.

At that moment, he saw the trainees crowded under the walls.

As many as a thousand, they appeared to be soldiers guarding the wall’s entrance from a distance. He only looked at them for a moment before walking forward, drawing his sword.

“Hey, o-over there, isn't it weird?”

“Oh, yeah. You’re right. What is that?”

Around that time, horses began to slowly come and go among the trainees trembling with their weapons.

Something was happening in the distance, as they said.

This was because the enemy soldiers who had been fighting with their troops had been shouting for some time, paying more attention to their back than their front.

“Did something appear behind them?”

“I don't know.”

As they spoke, someone jumped out from amongst the enemy army.

After rolling out and cutting dozens of throats, he took a breath and ran into the crowd of enemies again. Some of the trainees who saw it began to look at one another with a puzzled expression.

“I-Isn't that the soldier that gave the speech?”

“You’re right, it was definitely that 100-Man Commander. I hadn’t seen him since then, but did he rush into enemy lines alone?”

“What did I just see? Do people die that easily? Are all 100-Man Commanders like that?”

Iremic, standing in front of the trainees, was as astonished as those trainees loudly talking.

Unlike the trainees who couldn't see the situation properly because they’d been looking around, he had always been facing the scene.

From the moment Ha Chun-Sung instantly jumped off the wall, Iremic knew he wasn’t an ordinary person.

However, he’d thought the man had gone to cooperate with their troops and hold off the enemy. Iremic didn’t expect him to wander alone through the enemy army.

But it was Ha Chun-Sung who had just appeared from within the enemy army, and Iremic’s eyes shook with astonishment upon seeing him.

“Commander Tian wasn’t even using aura. Don't tell me it's just strength…”

Was it possible for a person to do that?

And Iremic was sure that there was a knight in there who fought with aura.

“Iremic, what was that just now? The trainees are saying it was Commander Tian from earlier. Is it true?”

One of the 20-Man Commanders who hadn’t properly witnessed it asked Iremic, standing there absent-mindedly.

Iremic paused for a moment at the question, then hurriedly conveyed the situation. All of the 20-Man Commanders were astonished.

As if it didn’t make any sense.

It was at that moment.

The appearance of a young man.

His blue hair was tied back, and in his aristocratic clothes and cloak, he slowly began to approach the enemy.

Seeing the young man’s back, a 20-Man Commander recognized him.

“It's Count Gilbert! It's Count Gilbert!”

“What?! We’re saved! We're saved!”

One by one, the 20-Man Commanders who recognized him began to have hope.

Their voices were heard even by the trainees and their expressions changed.

Count Gilbert. This year, he was 27.

He was one of the Six Bladeworks, the pride of the Gritian Empire.

A Sword Master whose name was naturally famous enough to spread far and wide, even to other countries. His appearance alone raised the momentum of the allied side and suppressed the opponent.

Such a person had appeared where the war had broken out.

“We won. We won!”

A 20-Man Commander shouted, and as he did, Count Gilbert swung his sword just one time.

When his sword came down, containing a Sword Master’s aura, many of the opposing soldiers were instantly killed.

People cheered at his appearance. As soon as he returned to the front, someone rolled over.

‘My body rolls quite often since I’m fighting without aura.’

Of course, my body wouldn’t get hurt from just falling, but as long as I wasn’t using aura, I had to at least pretend to avoid attacks, which caused me to roll around often.

“You’re…”

When I rolled out that time and fell away from the enemy, I made eye contact with a pretty man.

Giving his luxurious clothes a brief glance and noticing he was an aristocrat, I quickly realized he was the one who wielded the aura-infused sword earlier.

‘Is he at the level of a Sword Master?’

I thought to myself that he should be at a rank where he could flex. I stopped paying attention to him and rushed back into the enemy army.

Regardless of what armor the enemy wore or how tough their shield was, I used pure strength to wield a regular sword like a blunt weapon.

Having wandered through the enemy for such a long time, I breathed lightly now that my army uniform was blackened with blood.

I didn’t recall how long it’d been since I’d moved without using aura, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

Glancing back, the enemy was running away while shouting to retreat as our allies arrived. When I saw them, this time I turned toward our allies.

‘I think I’ve been pretty active.’

I thought some guys might be admiring me, so I looked over, but nobody was even looking at me.

It was because everyone was admiring the aristocratic guy I saw earlier.

He must have made a name for himself on this Floor because everyone seemed to think that they had won the war just because he appeared.

‘I was going to act like a hero to try and make it easier to clear the Floor but… Well, it’s fine. It looks like Rush is alive and well at least.’

I figured this was enough. I fixed my army cap again, stuck the enemy’s sword into the ground and turned around.

“Commander!”

When I came back, a surprised Iremic rushed out.

I patted him on the shoulder for keeping the ranks as I told him to and stood in front of the trainees.

Iremic quickly commanded the other 20-Man Commanders to have the trainees focus and I gave them words of encouragement.

“Everyone worked hard. Thanks to you guys, we’ve won the war.”

“Yaaaay!”

Everyone cheered loudly.

We won the war and none of the trainees died.

“20-Man Commanders, please educate them properly later. There might be some guys who’ll get drunk off winning today.”

“Understood.”

I nodded my head to the commanders who now listened to me well before heading back to the wall.

Around the wall, those who were injured were being rushed away. Iremic followed me and urgently questioned me.

“Are you all right, Commander? The blood…”

“Don’t worry, it’s not my blood. Oh, if you don’t mind, could you get me another uniform? I’d like a place to change, too. Afterward, I need to talk about the war with the other 100-Man Commanders, but I can’t go like this.”

“Oh, I'll prepare it right away. The training center is not too far away, so you can change there. I don’t know anything yet, but I’m sure the meeting will be held at the training center.”

“Thank you.”

Giving my thanks, I returned to the training center with Iremic first.

After receiving the reserve army uniform, I entered the public bathroom of the training center.

Nobody was around, so I took off my coat and army cap, and checked my blood-stained body while removing the compression wrap.

It was pretty suffocating, but after releasing it, I felt a bit more relaxed.

‘What a state I’m in, having to cross-dress as a man.’
