Chapter 60

Heeeek.

“Uh, um.”

When I looked around to find the person behind the voice that just spoke, what I saw were trembling losers who couldn’t bear the weight of my aura and even turned their heads.

It was funny to hear Yeon-Ji being evaluated so arbitrarily by such a man.

‘He should just focus on taking good care of his own children.’

I snorted angrily, took back my aura, and watched the next match.

Since then, Yeon-Ji continued to sweep.

Most of her opponents couldn’t even make an attempt before Yeon-Ji defeated them, proving my training was worth the effort.

Of course.

This was an obvious result.

Dragon Transformation [D-Rank]

Mini Breath [B-Rank]

Fireball [D-Rank]

Ignis Gladio [C-Rank]

Ha Yeon-Ji Form Sword Technique [C-Rank]

Yeon-Ji’s current stats all exceeded three digits.

Considering that the Sword Master’s level was 100, Yeon-Ji had reached the point that she just needed 21 more levels to be equal to a Sword Master.

That was why the kids that were about to reach the lower level of Sword Expert stood no chance against Yeon-Ji.

‘Still.’

There were a few kids who stood out as Yeon-Ji made it to the semifinals.

Yeon-Ji could possibly lose against those few.

Except for Yeon-Ji, all three of the participants were 15. Yeon-Ji’s remaining opponents were dragons, who were nearing the end of their adolescence.

“Ha Yeon-Ji vs. Lilios in the semifinals.”

Afterward, Yeon-Ji came up to the stadium.

Youth competitions received relatively less attraction than the main tournament.

In addition, there were quite a few parents who left with their children who lost, so many of the seats were empty.

However, since the quarterfinals of the main tournament were scheduled for tomorrow, the visitors of that tournament soon migrated to the youth competition.

As a result, the semifinals for the youth competition were held in front of a much larger audience than before.

As the audience number increased, the pressure did as well.

Because the expectations and gazes of so many naturally make a person feel intimidated.

But Yeon-Ji inherited my genes and showed zero traces of anxiety on her face.

Rather, she was overflowing with confidence.

That was because Yeon-Ji had already blown away all tension after the first match.

‘That doesn’t mean she won’t let her guard down.’

She wasn’t thrown into a monster’s den just to learn survival of the fittest.

Since Yeon-Ji lived her life fully aware that she could be attacked by monsters at any time if she was careless, it was unlikely for her to let down her guard.

I proceeded to study her opponent, Lilios.

As I mentioned before, a 15-year-old boy.

No matter how much Yeon-Ji grew in size with the help of the elixir, the boy who reached the end of puberty was about two heads taller than her.

Moreover, the energy flowing out from him was that of a low-level Sword Expert. It seemed that he could even handle 4th-circle magic, too.

In terms of sword skills, he was behind Yeon-Ji. When it came to magic, though, he was far superior.

Yeon-Ji had very little experience fighting magicians as she had been my opponent so far. She’ll learn many things through this opportunity.

“The match starts the same as before. Get ready.”

After the host finished speaking, he came down from the stadium. Cheering voices could be heard from all around.

Since it was a youth competition, there was a lot of encouragement going around.

Like before, the signal sounded and Yeon-Ji followed the same method as the first round.

Ha Yeon-Ji First Form—

Lightning Sword Gust.

With the loud sound of thunder, her sword quickly struck at Lilios.

However, Lilios had already studied Yeon-Ji’s fighting style, used sound-erasing magic to counter Yeon-Ji’s swordsmanship.

Then, sword in hand, he immediately disappeared using the movement magic, Blink, and appeared again right behind Yeon-Ji.

She also did not let Lilios from her sight.

An aura sword was swung toward Lilios, and the two swords collided about three times.

Meanwhile, several whips of flame were swung at Yeon-Ji from behind Lilios’ back.

Yeon-Ji quickly parried the whips and stabbed her sword into the ground, rapidly injecting aura into the sword.

A dusty wind swirled around the area caused by the exploding debris. Lilios tried to retreat as he was unable to determine Yeon-Ji’s location.

“Where are you going?”

But Yeon-Ji was already right in front of him.

Yeon-Ji thrust her sword right into the face of the guy  running away and, without hesitation, she extended her palm to Lilios’ face.

Ha Yeon-Ji’s Third Form—

Thunderclap.

The deafening sound of thunder rang loud.

The palm that directly touched Lilios’ face emitted strong electricity power, instantly blowing his head away, and his face became a mess after being hit directly.

However, he still had his achievements and years of experience. Lilios used magic out of conditioned reflex and tightly wrapped a shield around his entire body.

Ha Yeon-Ji’s Fourth Form—

Thousand Thundering Flame.

On top of the electric aura, flames arose.

The aura around Yeon-Ji’s arm began to swell.

A thousand cuts covered Lilios’ shield in an instant.

Countless flames and lightning struck down on his shield without mercy, and the sound of something cracking echoed.

After hearing that, Lilios somehow came back to his senses.

Blue scales covered all of Lilios’ body, as if he finally realized it would be his end once his shield broke apart.

Lilios, who used dragonoid flame, casted and activated magic even though his nose began bleeding profusely.

4th-Circle Magic—

Inferno.

Sword-wielding Yeon-Ji was covered in flame magic.

In that brief moment, Lilios’ eyes turned yellow, and soon a condensed mass of aura erupted from the corner of his mouth.

It was the secret Breath of the dragon race.

With pitch-black smoke covering Yeon-Ji, just before Lilios was about to fire his Breath, a hand reached out through the smoke.

The hand crushed Lilios’ Breath, wrapping around his face only to slam it into the floor.

BANG!

With the loud sound, through the dispersing smoke, the transformed Yeon-Ji was revealed.

She had red scales on her face and smoke exited from the corner of her mouth as she lightly exhaled.

Lilios fainted from the blow.

When Yeon-Ji took back her hand from his face and looked at the host, the host nodded and held up her hand.

“Ha Yeon-Ji wins.”

With that announcement, the audience who had been watching the competition with bated breath exploded in cheer.

Yeon-Ji was a little taken aback at the sudden cheers as her concentration broke. She looked around with a confused expression on her face.

“She’s strong! Very tough!”

“She transformed to defend herself against the magic! I think Yeon-Ji’s dragon attribute is fire, but Lilio’s decision at the end was disappointing. If it had been another attribute magic instead of fire magic, it would have been possible to link it to Breath.”

Loud chattering echoed through the stadium.

Yeon-Ji still had a puzzled expression on her face. She soon looked in my direction.

I looked at Yeon-Ji, sighed, and shook my head.

Yeon-Ji pouted as if she was disappointed at my attitude, then went back to the waiting room and immediately received treatment for the next round.

“Next semifinal, Seren vs. Sorak.”

And the match where Yeon-Ji’s next opponent would be decided had begun.

The two people walked up.

Sorak pulled out his spear and Seren pulled out her sword.

“Then, proceed as usual.”

The moment the host went down, the alarm announcing the start of the match beeped.

People started cheering and without a moment's hesitation, Seren’s sword moved faster than anything. And unfortunately, only a few people were able to notice it.

It all happened instantaneously.

The sword grazed the neck of the dragon called Sorak and he lost consciousness.

Sorak twitched as he collapsed onto the floor.

When he continued to lay there without a response, people started whispering with confused expressions on their face.

“Seren wins.”

The host, who caught on because he was a Sword Master, came up to the stadium to announce Seren’s victory and Seren returned to the waiting room without a change in expression.

Seren, the girl I thought was the strongest in this competition, ended up staying until the end.

That was because she had reached the stage of a low-level Sword Master.

Seren was a dragon of a certain level who could make a difference in this world

“Seren? Could it be Atticus’ daughter?”

“By Atticus, are you referring to one of the current Lord Candidates?”

“So that’s why. But to have that kind of skill at just 15 years old…”

“Sword Master at 15? My, the world is turning upside down.”

I gained information from listening to people talk here and there.

Lord Candidate. I stayed on this Floor for almost two years and gathered enough information of my own.

Since I had been using the time-skip function as much as possible, I wasn’t here for the entirety of two years, but still, my time here wasn’t short either.

Tsk, the more I get stuck on Floors like these, the more my sense of purpose blurs. The twenty years leading up to the fifth regression. I may not have changed much physically, but mentally I can’t even remember how old I am.’

Because of this, there are quite a few people who fall into mental illness and break down along the way.

In fact, there were some people who stayed on one Floor too long and got so immersed in that world they chose to live there for the rest of their time.

The Constellations were mean and petty.

They try to tie people to the Floors somehow, and hope that they will live their whole lives in some created world.

If a participant became completely immersed in a world, the Constellation won’t declare the person to have cleared the Floor.

Since they did not want to advance to the next Floor, it was judged that they did not meet the test conditions.

However, even for those people, everything would reset and they would return to the starting point after five years.

In that case, most people who are unable to distinguish between reality and story would soon break down.

In the end, Crown Road was a world that exists to destroy both externally and internally.

I clicked my tongue and looked at Yeon-Ji, thinking that the solution was to quickly escape this world.

Returning to the topic in hand, Lord was something Yeon-Ji must reach as a goal, as explained by the Constellation earlier.

Dragon Lord. In other words, the lord of the dragon clans.

In this world, being a dragon clan lord meant having the position of ruler.

Dragon eggs come from the ‘Sacred Tree of Dragons’ that exists in Dragonis, the capital of the world. The eggs are said to be given to those who have built up a certain level of fame, regardless of clans.

Of course, members of the same dragon clan can receive eggs too.

‘It’s a really annoying system in more ways than one.’

When Yeon-Ji turns 15, Floor 30 would be cleared and we’ll move on to Floor 31 where she will compete for the position of Dragon Lord.

So, clearing things up, Yeon-Ji’s opponent was the daughter of such a Lord Candidate. A child of a family overflowing with resources.

And, to be honest, it was absurd to tell Yeon-Ji, a high-level Sword Expert, to beat a low-level Sword Master.
